18 April 2010 |
VINERY Stud resident Myboycharlie (Ire) was given a collective thumbs up by breeders at the Australian Easter Broodmare sale held at Newmarket this week.
There were ten mares sold carrying a positive test to the former French Champion 2YO at an average of over $50,000.
(Myboycharlie's 2009 service was $14,300).
``That was a good result for breeders who used Myboycharlie in his first season,'' Vinery Stud's Adam White said.
``It's sometimes a difficult proposition to sell mares in foal to a first season stallion. In saying that, Myboycharlie's progeny stand every chance of being strong, forward types like he was so the buyers of these mares will have plenty of options come sale time.''
Myboycharlie served 94 mares last season, a good result says White, who pointed out that the stallion wasn't announced to breeders until late.
``His fertility is exceptional and due to the response he had here, he attracted much attention in the northern hemisphere and now shuttles to the UK,'' White said.
``His sire, Danetime, is a prolific sire of winners (111 from 156 foals) and can get a top liner as Myboycharlie, Bushranger, and Megatic proved.''
