“A Real Prospect” – that’s how ace broadcaster Matt Hill described Dubleo 3YO Skateboard as he glided past the post in the EMA San Miguel Cup (1000m) at Hawkesbury this afternoon.

The Guy Walter trained gelding started at $1.50 in the wake of his stunning 7-lens debut win at Goulburn last month and didn’t disappoint keeping his undefeated record intact.

Skateboard jumped on terms in today’s race tracking the speed ominously into the straight before unleashing a decisive turn of foot to quickly put the issue beyond doubt going on to score an easy win.

The win was a triumph for popular syndicator Jamie Walter (Proven Thoroughbreds) who outlaid $42,500 on the bay at the 2009 Magic Millions Yearling sale on the Gold Coast.

Skateboard was sold on account of Alanbridge Stud bred from the mare All Trumped Up, a Flying Spur half-sister to Group One winning classic French colt Highest Honor.

“It’s often said that one of the hardest things to do in racing is to take the step up from a maiden to a class one,” Vinery’s Adam White said,”not only has Skateboard done that at his only two starts but the manner in which he has suggests that he is a horse of considerable promise.”

Skateboard is one of 23 Australian-bred winners sired by Dubleo whose catalogue includes Vinery’s own stakeswinning filly Dubleanny who went through her winter campaign unbeaten culminating in the Listed A.R. Creswick Stakes (1200m) at Flemington.
